Several senior abuse scandals have come forth in the past month. While it’s sad to acknowledge such acts transpire, awareness is key to avoiding abuse scenarios.
Every state in the USA offers an elder abuse hotline for anyone to call when they are interacting with a senior who may need more care or assistance or protection from someone who does not have the senior's best interest at heart.
The number one form of elder abuse is financial. Many times the abuser is a relative. Professionally managed care, through a Senior Home Care Agency, prevents finanical abuse through proper policies and procedures for the Caregiver to follow.
